How to get to Manchester United – Travel Information – Distance: 63 miles
By Road
In order to get to Manchester, start out your journey from Stevenage by crossing country to the M1. This can be done in a manner of ways, so take your pick of whichever works best for you. Follow the M1 northbound until Junction 19, and pick up the northbound M6.
Choose your preference of Toll or non-Toll M6 and continue until you reach Junction 19 (again!). Here, come off the motorway and take the third exit at the roundabout for the A556. After 5.3 miles, this will see you merge onto the M56.
In a further 5.4 miles, keep right on the carriageway to stay on the M56; this soon becomes the A5103. Shortly after this, you’ll need to bear left to join the M60 Manchester Ring Road. You’ll only be on here for a couple of miles, however; leaving the motorway at Junction 7 and 8 for the A56.
At the end of the slip road, turn right onto the A56. In a short distance, you’ll come to an out-of-shape roundabout; continue round to the second exit (it is straight on as you look ahead) and pass the McDonalds on your right. A further 1.5 miles later, turn left onto the B5188 Sir Matt Busby Way.
In and around the ground, there are a number of private car parks that will charge for the pleasure of leaving your car. The Football Ground Guide gives a few options that are available to you, which include options nearer Old Trafford and alternatives a little further afield.

Station: MANCHESTER UNITED
Services to: MANCHESTER PICCADILLY (for LEEDS)
With success comes, apparently, a train station. And Manchester United FC boast their own station outside the ground that is served by Northern Rail from the city’s main interchange. It is literally next to the venue.
