If you wanna beat a Glover, you gotta get with our friends. And it looks like the four lads coming in on loan on transfer deadline day are doing just that. With the attacking threat of a limp sloth, Boro’ made no dent in the Forest Green back line last time out. So, it’d seem the gaffer has gone about sortin’ it out. We’ve hit the reset button on the win count too, so it’s new starts all round and ours is a large Scotch on the rocks if yer offerin’.
Hang on. Why have we loaned out our current top goalscorer?
Stevenage v Yeovil Town: The Lowdown
In spite of our Rovers non-return, we still sit within jabbing distance of the playoff places – although our goal difference needs a shot in the arm. We’re the highest placed side with a negative goal difference, which ain’t much to gloat on. Our guests Yeovil also have a three point wedge, but theirs is keeping heads above water at the wrong end of the table. You remember Yeovil, dontcha? Have the feel of a bogey team about ’em, yeah?

The start of 2019 has seen us surround ourselves with familiar faces, for better or worse. It’s no different with the Glovers; a side we’ve met 31 times since December 1994. This lot were first to take three points off us this term, and it ain’t as unusual as – say – losing indoors to Forest Green. In our 12 encounters since we came up to the Football League, we’ve won three. To be fair, one of those was our last home match against ’em.

John Busby is the man in charge this weekend, and it’s the fifth time of asking as far as we’re concerned. Boro’ have a consistent record over the last four: win, loss, win, loss. We all know what *should* come next…
The Form
The Glovers made a decent enough start to the season, but it got a bit rubbish from mid-September onwards. They now sit just three points above the relegation zone, though back-to-back wins earlier this month stopped a rot that saw them go 10 without a win. Well, for the time being. Last time out, a home defeat to Lincoln saw Yeovil back to losing ways. It doesn’t take a rocket surgeon to work out a win would go down well in their parts.
With just 13 points from 15 games at Huish Park, it’s Yeovil’s home form that’s been the problem. On the road, however, they’re bang average. And their defence is sixth best in the division at the moment. That’s helped by the unnerving fact they’ve kept their sheets clean in more than half of their matches away from home. With an enticing gaggle of new attacking players for the gaffer to choose from, their first task is a bit of a toughie.
