For the third year in a row, a team of cyclists representing Stevenage Football Club are taking part in the Football To Amsterdam Challenge 2016. With a total of eight fans taking part, Boro’ will be among the best represented teams on the road – not as many as Ipswich and their 43, but that’s quite an effort on their part to be fair. And this mammoth effort is in aid of Prostate Cancer UK.
Football To Amsterdam 2016
Unlike the past two years, Boro’ are planning a two-pronged attack. From the south, one half of the team will leave from the Lee Valley Velopark in London. And from the north, the other half will be setting off from Barnsley having biked up from Stevenage. Both halves then join together on the other side of the North Sea to mark the completion of Football To Amsterdam 2016.
The Football To Amsterdam fundraising target for Team Boro’ is £10,500. As we speak, it’s a target that’s well within reach – but we’re not there quite yet. That’s where you can help. By donating to this epic adventure, you’ll do two things – first (and probably most important) you’ll be supporting the work of Prostate Cancer UK. Second, you’ll be pushing Boro’ up the league table.
And we’re a club that’s never been afraid to punch above our own weight on the field, so why not off it too?
Donating is a simple process. First, head on over to the team’s Football To Amsterdam 2016 JustGiving page. Second, pick one of the folks that have been training hard over the past few weeks and months to sponsor. Though all cyclists are tasked with raising £1,000 each, the main thing from the team’s perspective is to hit the £10,500 goal. We know we can do it with your help.
BoroGuide itself has signed up to take part and is aiming to bring updates as we go along. Now, which way is ‘Olland?
