ALOOT Live – A Love Of Our Football

By BoroGuide

ALOOFIn June, a team of cyclists from Stevenage FC will riding from Leyton Orient’s Matchroom Stadium in east London to the Amsterdam Arena – home of Ajax – to help raise both funds and awareness for the charity Prostate Cancer UK.

As part of the fund-raising effort for the charity, the club’s podcast team – A Load Of Old Toffee – will be hosting a very special live recording on Friday 21 March, in front of a live audience. It will be the 50th episode of the popular podcast, hosted by Steve Watkins, who is part of the Stevenage team who’ll be embarking on the bike ride.

Watkins said: “The Stevenage fans have been brilliant in getting behind the podcast, and after raising over £4,000 last year, we decided to concentrate on helping to raise funds for this very important cause, currently the biggest ‘man-killer’ in the UK.”

The event – along the lines of and not at all ripping off the format of the Channel 4 quiz show 8 Out Of 10 Cats – will be held at the Broadhall Suite, starting at 7.30pm (doors open at 7pm and the bar will be open). Tickets are priced at £5 and ALL proceeds will be going straight to Prostate Cancer UK. Stevenage boss Graham Westley will be attending the evening, refereeing proceedings.
