Three games. Is that it? Is that all that remains of the 2012/3 season? A quick glance at the fixture list tells you no lies – yet another interesting campaign in the life of Boro’ has nearly come to its conclusion. From the early promise of those sultry autumn afternoons up north in Doncaster and Coventry to winter gloom and weather to match – the close season seems as if it will be a great chance to catch breath.
The visitors for our penultimate home game of the season will be former Conference rivals Yeovil Town, who come to our manor with strong playoff ambitions. You’ll be able to work out which of those in Stripes have made the journey up – they’ll be calling us Satanage and telling loved ones they’ve travelled to Broadmoor or Bogroll Way. Quite witty really.
If we were the manager (and we’re not, with good reason), we’d keep everything similar to the past two games. Do you put Miguel Comminges in at left back and free up Max Ehmer to return to central midfield alongside James Dunne? Do you stick with Filipe Morais in a nod to his recent form or do you recall Marcus Haber to start alongside Dani Lopez. All of this might give you a clue as to what we’d do.
They’re unbeaten in four games and us in three; they haven’t kept a clean sheet in two and we haven’t conceded in two. Do you like how we’ve set this up? Because it probably means absolutely nothing. This is going to be a tough game for Boro’ – but there are signs to make you think there is more resolve about the place and that this isn’t the forgone conclusion it might have been a few weeks ago. We shall see.

FIFA 13 Verdict:
Like the return of a friend you didn’t really miss all that much, we powered up the PS3 and thrashed it out with our Somerset friends. OK, we didn’t go with the team below (Ehmer at left back and Grant in the middle) but we dug out a 1-0 win in that wet kind of rain you get now and then. It was Marcus Haber’s early goal that did it. Not much else to report except Lucas Akins looked pretty damn good on the right.
Bookmakers’ Verdict:
Is it surprising that Yeovil start as favourites for this one? You can get 7/5 at Bet365, Coral and Will Hill on the away win, where 11/5 is the best price on a home win (Bet365). We are thinking Both Teams To Score might be a good shout and you can nab that at 8/11 with the good folk of Stan James and Ladbrokes. We also fancy Dani Lopez to find the net again (21/10 Paddy Power). So what’s yo flava? Everything correct when written!
