We’re not trying to excuse the recent run of results – five losses on the spin is, quite simply, not good enough. The visit of relegation-threatened Colchester United is an ideal chance to set it right and bang three points on the board – treble twenty, treble twenty, treble twenty. If we only gain a point or, even worse, make it six losses on the spin, relegation-threatened could be a tag applicable to us soon enough.
Phil has publicly announced his desire for Boro’ to attain 58 points this season. So, if you’d be so kind as to do the maths, that makes 15 points… five wins… whatever… in 13 games. It is a realistic total – provided the first of those points don’t take another two weeks to come. Otherwise, the Last Chance Saloon will have expanded into a full hotel and concierge-style operation and things start to become a little “difficult”.
And the run of games coming up doesn’t look too kind either…
FIFA 13 Verdict:
Is there a correlation between not doing this lately, and Boro’ not winning?
Bookmakers’ Verdict:
It seems like quite a while that we were considered the ‘favourites’ to win a game, but there we go – 24/17 is the best you can achieve on a home win, that being with Pinnacle. Looking at other options, 3/4 suggests Both Teams To Score is almost a nap (Ladbrokes/BetVictor) and 2-1 is relatively short in the Correct Score lists. James Dunne is 6/1 anytime to score at Will Hill by the way… Everything correct when written!
