Bury’d Under Snow

The Bury After TomorrowSurprised? Not much. The postponement of tomorrow’s match was as likely as Sir Alex moaning about this, that or indeed the other. At the time of writing, we are hearing the areas in and around Greater Manchester are completely covered in snow to the point it looks like an additional set from The Day After Tomorrow. The main difference is that you’re unlikely to find Dennis Quaid at Gigg Lane.

Due to a quirk in the way the Stevenage fixture list is currently organised, we’re looking straight ahead at another extended period without a game. In fact, we’re now completely done for January and don’t step out onto a pitch in anger until Leyton Orient come our way on 2 February. That’s what happens when you don’t go blazing a trail in the FA Cup. It takes getting used to.

Ho hum and there we go.

FIFA 13 Verdict:
In the spirit of these particular circumstances, we nearly couldn’t be bothered with this game. However, we decided to play it and ran out comfortable winners in the end. Well, Bury rallied from 3-0 down to get within a goal, but Shroot’s last-minute strike ensured Boro’ took all three points from Gigg Lane. It was a pretty dominant performance to be honest, with two goals for Marcus Haber and the third for Belek.

FT: Bury 2-4 Stevenage (Healy pen 66, Sweeney 82; Haber 16, 30, Belek 62, Shroot 90)

Bookmakers’ Verdict:
We’re not sure what the bookies are currently offering, but it must be 1.6 million/1 that the game goes ahead tomorrow after a dramatic, six-hour heatwave. Everything correct when written…

Last Season:
Bury 1-2 Stevenage
