OK, don’t believe the blog title. It certainly won’t be easy MK. Tomorrow is arguably Boro’s toughest test of the season to date, and it doesn’t help that it comes off the back of our first league defeat of the season. Having gone 10 unbeaten, we’ll have to go some in order to not record two defeats on the spin. And as we said earlier this week, it’ll be good to see how we bounce back and return to the unbeaten thing after losing at Colchester United last weekend.
You wouldn’t imagine too many changes in terms of the style of football. It does appear we will be playing 4-5-1 and hoping to catch the hosts on the counter, but would you make any personnel changes? Well, for a start, we have to – there’s no Anthony Grant. Therefore, you would imagine Oliver Risser is leading candidate for that vacancy. But we’d also like to see Luke Freeman in for Filipe Morais tomorrow.
Depending on how the game pans out, it would also be tremendous to see Dani Lopez get a chance to shine. Not least because he is surely ready now, but also because Marcus Haber cannot do the leg work on his own. How many games has Haber now played a full 90, with the task of running across opposition defences. The man must be knackered. Maybe there will be a curveball and Lopez will start…
We have a relatively OK record against MK Dons and it would be marvellous to preserve it – one defeat in all meetings. We will understand much more about the resolve of these new players tomorrow and hopefully it is a lesson that we are all delighted to learn. But what of the outcome? Head says home win, heart says cheeky draw… The liver says no more and the lungs go about their business as normal.
FIFA13 Verdict:
We have to confess that our glorious career has taken over this week and, therefore, we did not get the chance to fulfill our duties. If you are interested, Boro’ overtook early pacesetters MK Dons and became locked in battle with Portsmouth for the league title. The championship was secured with four games to spare, with the eventual points tally surpassing the 100 barrier. Luke Freeman chipped in with 21 goals, while loan signings such as Raheem Stirling and Paul Pogba did much to help.

A home win is much the favoured outcome from our illustrious bookmakers – MK Dons odds-on in the majority, if not all, of cases.
