We must be getting old here at BoroGuide Towers. Just two days in Amsterdam and the third and fourth are – for all intents and purposes – write-offs. It was good to hear that Stevenage remain unbeaten in League One. A win would have been preferable, but points win prizes and we’re continuing to earn ’em.
Alas this week imposes a distraction upon us that, frankly, we at BoroGuide are not really fussed about. Perhaps you might once have said the same thing about the FA Trophy, but not even a Wembley final makes the JPT enticing. It’s our fourth most crucial competition – up there with the old GLS Cup.
We’re off to visit some old friends, mind. It has been years since we bothered those cheeky East London scamps down at Dagenham and/or Redbridge – more than five to be precise. And we’ve not beaten them at their place since the 2000/1 Conference Cup, which must be an omen for tonight? We’ll read anything into anything, us… 2+2 – that definitely equals a five, right?
